Lower bitrate version MP3s

In response to those of you who asked for lower bitrate mp3s, I have updated all of the previous posts to include a 96kbps copy in addition to the 320kbps version. There are bound to be added digital artifacts, this, however, may not be a bad thing. I hope this encourages you to download all of the work I create, who knows, you might get to like some of the more unusual stuff?  I have work of the paying kind to do for the rest of today, but I will try to post something more this evening.

009 – Meodune

Woke up at 5am and this little piece came into being.  A couple of hours playing with Reaktor 5 and this rather simple track is ready for your ears.  This is a classic example of the repetitious sound I love.  I particularly love the trailing reverberation ending.  I hope many of you get the same level of pleasure from it, though I know it won’t appeal to all.

008 – Woool

This is an almost generative piece made with Reaktor 5 and the genius of Rachmiel, so I won’t claim the full creativity of this, other than realising how well it works to instill an uncomfortable listening experience.

Offline until Sunday

I will be away from the computer until late Sunday morning, but I will post a new track then.  Thanks to all who have generously commented on my little works.  Much appreciated.

007 – Teo

A quick post this morning as life is hectic here today (well, it’s as hectic as rural Somerset gets). This is a track from the end of last year.  Sparse, haunting and really rather simple. Hope you like it?  Made with Atmosphere.

006 – Adrastea

Here is something from last year.  I played this live into Ableton using Atmosphere, it was made up on the fly.  No editing or quantisation.  Unusual for me.  It is a little cloudly and muddled, but I think it adds to its overall feel.  Inspired by Sigur Rós at the time.  Well, they are pretty amazing, don’t you think?

005 – Deja

This is not strictly an ambient piece, but I’ll file it here anyhow. I found it whilst having a rummage through some old HD back-ups and thought you’d like it. This is at least a couple of years old. I remember using Reaktor 5, but can’t come up with much else, although it may have been put together with a tracker app and another VSTi instrument.

004 – Ennio

The inspiration for this, is the magnificent Ennio Morricone.  It’s a loop of four arpeggiated chords from Omnisphere inside Live, slowed to 20bpm and treated with a Rachmiel delay .ens from Reaktor.  Not too bad for a bit of playing about during my lunch break.

003 – Factories

Last night I dreamt I was back in 1988.  When I woke, this tumbled out.  Reaktor, Live (Operator/Simpler). Repetitious, hope you’re ok with that?

002 – Mir

Whilst I am having  a mental block,  trying to write a ColdFusion application, I thought I would upload a piece from last year.  Created in Reaktor 5 and Live, however, I can’t remember the actual process.  I rarely write down or note my methods.  The downside is not always being able to recreate some things, the upside is that every piece has no fixed way of coming to life.
