132 – So This Is Where It Is
Finally, after a couple of days of playing about with Live 8 and Reaktor on a Samsung netbook, I have something I feel is good enough to post.
It’s far from being a polished, complete piece, but it does give an indication of what I may be able to squeeze from this delicious little computer. Live is maxing out the CPU v.easily, but the use of Reaktor 3 library ensembles and a vocal sample spoken straight into the netbook mic, seems to be a good place for me to use as a starting point to see what will be possible to create on such a portable device.
I think I will revert to using Live 5 or 6 to see if that will give me more options with Reaktor 5. Also I intend to install some older apps that I thought I’d never use again. Interesting times ahead!
BTW, I am averaging 6 to 7 hours battery life in real world use. Sheer bliss.
