Nothing I am making right now is really hitting the spot. I know that I just need to keep plugging away and something will come.
This drone, made on my Samsung N110 netbook, was made by layering a few transposed, detuned and stretched single shot cello samples in Ableton Live Lite 8 with a little reverb to blend the rough edges.
It’s a little raw, but does have a hypnotic effect if you use headphones and a dark, chilled space to take it in.
I’m slowly beginning to feel a lot better, but I have a nagging pain issue and sleep is a little difficult now that I have exhausted my Codeine prescription. So I have turned to Ableton and Reaktor to help me create something hypnotic and opiate-like to aid my slip into the arms of Morpheus.
This piece has a long slow intro which means this is at its best with headphones on and a comfortable darkened space in which to relax.
It’s been a while I know. I’m still not quite right, but I made something a little shimmery this afternoon, the first thing in a couple of months and felt, on reflection, whilst it’s not much more than a noodle, it was something I wanted to share. Thanks to each and every one of you kind enough to ask after me. I hope to be creating more often in the not too distant future.
BTW, Nickie? Thank you for looking after and putting up with me ;) xxxx
