This piece came out of watching the sun as it began to light up the sky in an array of beautiful colours whilst I stood on Paignton Beach last Sunday morning waiting for the night to end and the day to begin.

This lunchtime as the sunshine broke through for the first time in a few days, I noodled about with a small ten second snippet from Elbow’s Lippy Kids. Guy’s (Craig’s?) simple, yet truly moving, two note piano chord progression was pulled apart stretched, reversed, layed and effected to reflect the magic of the light that was brightening my mood, just as Elbow’s music does for me also. I just hope he and the rest of the boys won’t mind my little twist on their wonderful work. This release, after all, is not a commercial one.
