Yet another piece born from a period of awakening well before the dawn arrived.
It’s a soundtrack to rhythmically nurse you back to your dreams whilst you watch the moon and stars light up the sky outside your bedroom window.
Worked for me.

Woke again to a head filled with high-pitched interference and sounds that appear to be fractured. It could have been triggered by playing a little too much with some bell samples yesterday. This piece is the result of that play.

In an effort to create something in a minimal amount of free time (work is busy), I set upon the idea of playing with ice cream van chimes. In the early hours of this morning, I made this using a very warbled and noisy sample.
It has an eerie and very melancholic sound, evoking a lost time, a faded snapshot of summers passed.
What do you think? Should I do more?

The sonic distortion that Tinnitus brings, whilst sometimes annoying, can also make certain moments quite interesting.
As I woke this morning, I could hear the roar of the A3 in the distance fading in and out along with the movement of the wind outside my window. The birdsong triggering little sweeps of noise in my head. This combination of the airwaves and my brain’s electrical murmurings is captured in this little ditty. More of a mini soundscape than a piece of music.
Please may I remind you of my charity offering of one donation for the 24 releases I have made so far? The target has been reached, but I’d for us to raise as much as possible together. If you can’t donate, please spread the word to as many people as possible?

Have woken with bad Tinnitus this morning and there are a whole bunch of frequencies reaching my brain that the normal bedroom birdsong is barely audible to me.
So before I started work, I decided to finish off a simple little piece that I started last night before bed. However, it now has some added multi-band dynamic effects, to really accentuate the sense of what the space around me sounds like right now.
Lots of buzzing, momentary imagined electronic noises and words… oh and my relentless refrigerator that seems more vocal than usual today. I’ve learned to embrace these odd days of noise. I hope there is something in it that you can enjoy also.

In the very early hours, I woke and could not get back to sleep. I popped open the laptop and in the dim light with just the qwerty keys as an input device I played a simple piano riff that had some noisy elements attached to the samples. I then attempted to augment by layering warped versions of the original passage together with some added effects. It’s very different to my usual pieces.
It needs headphones, a quiet space and your ears.

Here is the twenty sixth compilation from me, to you.
Sorry that it’s taken so long to create, but life has been busy and I just haven’t had the free time to create as much.
I still intend to document and share ideas as I create my next main project, which is likely now to start sometime in November.
