As I stretched, layered and effected the sounds, I was bathed in the light of the Full Moon, almost sensing its pull. As I let the combined layers drone on, I slipped into a barely awake state and imagined the Moon falling to Earth and filling the sky with an increasingly intense luminance.

What your brain imagine if you let this piece gently accompany you to sleep?

Nothing serious, but a few niggling things that make life a little more taxing. Sleep has become difficult, resulting in small pockets of my day, when I used to create, being interspersed with artifical moments of nocturnal rest. This little piece was made as I felt myself on the cusp of another dip into momentary slumber.

Rather than try in vain to return to sleep, I decided to revisit some Conet samples and took one from Disc 2 and made it into something resembling a ghostly brass & woodwind section playing a strange and haunting nocturnal soundscape. Not unlike the effect that these original broadcasts had on me, under the bed covers, late in the evening, as a young boy.

I decided to try and create something to fit the stillness of the night outside and the pending sunrise. By 5am, it was complete.

I’m immensly grateful to her for enlightening me. If you love ambient, this is a must have album.

One track in particular I love is Several Times II, but at just over two minutes, its beauty is all too short for me. To help me sleep last night, I stretched and layered it with a little bit of additional reverb into an 11 minute aid to allow you to drift gently off. Here is the result of that.

Only available as a stream for copyright reasons. That said, there is every chance I might be asked to remove it. I sincerely hope not.

I implore you to track the album down and buy it.
