The final piece in this series of five. It’s an odd one though. Whilst not detached, it’s haunting, dissonant and unsettling. I visited the beaches, experienced a range of emotions and heard voices of every course. When we look at the world today with its economic and political turmoil, we must remember the losses suffered and rememeber that love and respect is the only way forward for us all.

I woke up at around 4am this morning, sleep was fitful, so I decided to play with a short field recording of a distantly played violin performance. As I stretched, layered and effected the sounds, I was bathed in the light of the Full Moon, almost sensing its pull. As I let the combined layers drone on, I slipped into a barely awake state and imagined the Moon falling to Earth and filling the sky with an increasingly intense luminance.

A night of restless sleep and bewildering dreams led me to be fully awake at 6am. Rather than try in vain to return to sleep, I decided to revisit some Conet samples and took one from Disc 2 and made it into something resembling a ghostly brass & woodwind section playing a strange and haunting nocturnal soundscape. Not unlike the effect that these original broadcasts had on me, under the bed covers, late in the evening, as a young boy.
